From the Hardly Art Website-

The Olympia three-piece Broken Water— a sometimes noisy, sometimes droning, often pretty and subtly poppy band—is very much a product of its hometown. Shape-shifting over the course of EPs, singles, and full-length albums released consistently since 2009, the band has managed the rare feat of evolution in the service of a signature sound, wild experimentation that ultimately works as a harness, locking down the music’s unique and idiosyncratic internal logic.

New Transmitter in 2013

WCBN's engineering staff is working toward a projected December, 2013 timeframe to deploy our new FM signal. Check out the signal increase on this map. The blue line shows the current signal coverage, while the red line outlines the area we will cover after upgrading our signal to 3000 watts.

There are about 274,000 residents in the new coverage area, compared to 118,000 in the current coverage area. We expect improved reception in places like Dexter and Saline.

Support from our listeners, volunteers, and the Regents of the University of Michigan has made this upgrade project possible.

Thank you!

Welcome to WCBN

ACTION ALERT: Make Roadrunner Massachusetts' State Rock Song

ACTION ALERT: Make Roadrunner Massachusetts' State Rock Song:

From the March 4th, 2013 Boston Globe: ”No, this isn’t a life-or-death issue. But even a lighthearted bill can be a civic exercise; Linehan knows people who have called their representatives for the first time on the song’s behalf. The ‘Roadrunner’ campaign is also a tribute to Massachusetts’ creative economy. Linehan was inspired by a 2007 article in the British newspaper The Guardian, in which the writer took a pilgrimage to Massachusetts to visit the places named in the song. Music can be an ambassador, and ‘Roadrunner’ showcases Massachusetts at its most optimistic and openhearted.”

Yeah let’s do this. Join the fb group if you like (see link above), call your State Reps if you are now or ever have been a citizen of the glorious Commonwealth of Massachusetts, God save it.

And remember, this isn’t merely about the making the Modern Lovers’ love song to Massachusetts the state rock song. It is also about keeping feckin Dream On from becoming our state rock song. Thanks, South Shore.
