This is a retelling of the Greek legend of Orpheus (OR-fee-us) and Eurydice (yoo-RID-uh-see), set in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, during Carnival.
The group will play waltzes, but also swing, polka, and other couple dances. Lessons will be included.
The group includes Dave Kosmyna, the pianist with Phil Oglivie's Rhythm Kings.
The UK-based musician will perform on the 60-bell carillon ("CAROL-on").
Admission is free, and it will be livestreamed on The Ark's Facebook page. Donations will be accepted from the non-profit organization Food Gatherers.
Gailey will talk about the history of media censorship, and the librarians who help people access information freely.
