The performance features John Cage’s "Child of Tree", which premiered in Detroit in 1975. In this piece, an amplified cactus becomes the instrument.
There will also be a 9:30pm show.
Three dancers share the stage in a narrative of unity, vigor, and unrelenting advancement, inspired by the Afrofuturism movement.
There will also be a 9pm show.
The ensemble will present a showcase of Kunqu (KWUN-chaw), one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera. There will be a Q & A with the performers at 5pm.
