Phillips won the 2023 Pulitzer prize for his collection "Then the War: And Selected Poems 2007-2020".
The reggae legend released his first solo single in 1978.
George Porter Junior was a founding member of The Meters. There will also be a 9:30pm show.
This concert is part of Kerrytown Concert House’s Along the Road to Freedom Project, highlighting the African American history of what is now the Kerrytown District.
Vinyl records, CDs, tapes, music posters, etc. will be for sale. Also, musicians, DJs, and rappers will sign autographs, and DJs will spin vinyl records.
This will feature arts and crafts by local artisans inspired by bees, honey, and other pollinators both real and fantastical. There will also be food vendors.
