This huge street party features a wide variety of illuminated sculptures and live music. Homemade lit-up costumes and luminaries are welcome.
From the president's house, the parade will head down State Street and end at Yost Ice Arena. Streets will close for the parade route at 8 a.m. Saturday.
One film is about the anti-war movement within the US armed forces during the Vietnam War. Another is about the Black Panther Party, and another about LSD.
The films were submitted by filmmakers who live or work in Washtenaw County.
Giant-sized papier-mâché puppets, created and animated by U-M students and community members, will be paraded up and down Main Street.
